CURTIS BAYLISS - CLASSICAL VOICE

Curtis Bayliss is obsessed with the paintings of Richard Bunny (1862-1947) and teaching his family funky dance moves to Earth, Wind & Fire.

Specialising in male voices, he is voice teacher at Camberwell Grammar School and at Melbourne High School. He also maintains a busy private voice studio with students ranging from beginner 9-year-olds to Broadway and West End experienced performers.

Curtis sang with a cappella group Polyphony (later, The Phones) and also the jazz quartet, Bopera. He enjoyed being the keyboard player with comedy rock act, The Athol Guys. Curtis began teaching in state primary schools and performing with Opera Australia and the Victorian State Opera and Travelling Light Musicals, Whitehorse and other musical theatre companies and with the Australian Ballet (most definitely as a singer!)

He has served as a music director of the Australian Children’s Choir and on a number of occasions has been very proud to present as a young voice specialist for the Australian Singing Teachers Association forums on Musical Theatre Pedagogy.
