Research

One of ANATS’s key objectives is to promote and support research relevant to voice, singing, and vocal pedagogy. We believe that high-quality research enriches the art and science of vocal teaching and contributes to a deeper understanding of the human voice.

To support this goal, ANATS:

  • Distributes research surveys and projects undertaken by our members and associates within formal research environments.

  • Publishes the Australian Voice journal, a peer reviewed international journal that focuses on topics pertaining to the singing voice and vocal pedagogy.

  • Hosts a research-focussed Special Interest Group (SIG), providing a forum for collaboration, discussion, and sharing of research in progress.

  • Presents a National Conference every two years, offering a dedicated platform for researchers, teachers, and performers to connect, present findings, and inspire one another.

Through these initiatives, ANATS helps bridge the gap between research and practice in the world of vocal education.
