Event Description:
Beat the FOMO, and catch up on this amazing event with Professor Kittie Verdolini Abbott. Experience a full-day deep dive into application of perceptual motor learning theory for singing teachers from the comfort of your couch.
This virtual event will give you practical tools to improve not just your teaching, but your students' learning experience. The event is well suited to advanced teachers as well as those just starting out, and everyone in between.
You know WHAT you want your singing students to learn, but how often do you stop to think about HOW you can teach it in a way that ensures not just short term improvement, but long term retention as well?
Prof. Katherine (Kittie) Verdolini Abbott pioneered the application of perceptual-motor learning theory (much of it originating in the world of sports) into the world of voice training. In this virtual event, Kittie demonstrates how motor learning can impact singers, first via a teaching demonstration, followed by two lectures detailing the application of motor learning research. A moderated Q&A session closes out the event. Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn from a world expert in the HOW of voice training, at your own convenience.
What's Included:
Lecture 1 (1.5 hours): Basic science of motor learning Part I: Dual-process model
Lecture 2 (1.5 hours): Motor learning and performance Part II: From a deeper place. Includes 30 minutes of 'Introduction to Lessac' from Lessac Master Nancy Krebs.
Bonus session (45 minutes): Moderated Q&A session
